THE IMPORTANCE OF ESTABLISHING A ROUTINE THAT WORKS FOR YOU

the journey to success looks different for all of us but the one constant is our habits. the small choices and actions we make on a daily basis that define who we are because if nothing else actions speak louder than words.

as visionaries its important for us to see the very things we are trying to bring to life and through the manifestation process we evolve as our visions come to fruition.

in this newsletter i want to talk a bit about establishing a routine that works for you. i’ve read countless articles about the schedules and routines of billionaires and the habits of highly successful people and they all say that your morning ritual is the MOST important thing you can establish. what comes second is your schedule and day to day routines. they call it the sacred 60. using the first 60 minutes of your day to set the tone for the type of day you want to have. this includes, prayer and gratitude, setting intentions, meditating, journaling, stretching, exercising, eating breakfast, bathing and whatever else you need to do when you first wake up to feel good about yourself. another thing they all stress is to never check your email or phone when you first wake-up (something i too am working on).

for me, my ideal day would look a bit like this:

i’d wake up and immediately go into prayer, i’d take some time to write down my dreams or any thoughts that linger from the night before, then getting out of bed to stretch and do some yoga before my workout. after that, i’d roll a joint and run some bath water and soak in the tub for at least an hour, while listening to music or a podcast. after i’d gotten dressed and did my hair and make-up, i’d either make a light breakfast like an avocado toast, a fruit and yogurt parfait, or smoothie, then get started on my work for the day.

first thing first is brain dumping everything we need to do for the day then writing for at least 30 minutes and task by task knocking things off my to-do list. once work is complete, i’d start unwinding by watching an interesting youtube video or documentary, grabbing a snack and taking something out for dinner.

my evening would go a lot like eating dinner, cleaning, taking another long bath, smoking, watching something cool or listening to music, reading, stretching, journaling and then falling asleep to do it all over again. the day to day will change but that’s the blueprint. i can write, i can make music, i can ship orders, i can consult with clients, it all just depends on my priorities at the time but i do know that i am not working more than 4 days a week!

i’m both an early bird and a night owl because both of those times of day are extremely serene and quiet. the world is asleep and its just me and god. ideally, every day i’d wake up around 4A and by the time it hits noon, i’m done for the day to do whatever it is i want to. like go to the beach and catch the sunset.

but then there are those times when i stay up far past my bedtime and i end up sleeping in later than i’d like to. i hate waking up late, late being anything after 7A... it just makes me feel like a bum smh but what i’ve realized is that the key is to still maintain your same routine whether you’re waking up at 6A or 2P. consistency is the key and when you master that you’ll be unshakeable.

this lifestyle requires a lot of sacrifice and dedication but if you want to do the things you say you want to do you have to create space for those things to grow and flourish. starting with your habits, your routine, how you spend your time, where you spend your time, who you spend your time with...are you making the most of your time or are you wasting it? these are the questions we must ask ourselves in order to get to the root of our motivations. when you know yourself, you have a greater advantage over your “opponents” or “competition”.

the exercise for this week is to write out your ideal day. starting with your morning routine or sacred 60. write it as if you were doing everything you’ve dreamed of, what would a typical day in the life look like for you?
